Three generations of my family come together once a month to volunteer in a soup kitchen.

There is laughter, hugs and conversations as we prepare and serve sometimes well over 300 meals.

And why do I do it?  As parents we want to ensure our children know the importance of giving back. As an Aunt I love spending time with my young nephews. As a sister, it’s nice to be able to catch up with my siblings, and as a daughter I enjoy seeing the pride in my mom’s eyes as she watches and guides her grandchildren.

But I also do it for me!  It fills my cup.

Please take a moment to fill your own cup because as women, and as entrepreneurs we need to ensure we are looking after ourselves.

When is the last time you made yourself a priority?

Remember, there is no sin in putting nourishment into your own cup.  And perhaps, while doing so, you may also find a way to fill the cup of a person who would have not received the blessing without you being well enough to pour.

“You are the one that possess the keys to your being.  You carry the passport to your own happiness.” – Diane con Furstenberg

You’re awesome.  I know you are.  Please go out there and shine!
