We live in a world of wanting everything in ‘snack size’ pieces. The nightly news has turned into a twitter feed; handwritten letters to loved ones are now FB likes.
So, as an entrepreneur, how do you give your clients the information they need in a way they want to receive it?
The answer lies with ‘less is more ….. sometimes’ (great answer, huh?)
Less is More
- Use fewer words – they say to write from your heart and then slash 50% of the wording. There are educational blogs that are meant to be longer, but if you’re writing for the sake of it, be short and concise.
- Familiarity breeds contempt – too much of the same thing makes it boring. Imagine I offered a 20% discount all of the time, after a year would the 20% dazzle you or would you not even notice anymore? Don’t let your business fall into the “Groundhog Day” trap. Keep it fresh.
More is More
- When you have your client’s interest, give more – pay attention, avoid distraction, plan for a longer meeting just in case there are additional questions, send a ‘thank you’ email, or even better, write one of those handwritten notes!
If you are going to provide bite-sized pieces, then make sure every bite counts!
A little piece here and a little piece there, as long as it is created well and authentic if far better than a large pot of awfulness.
Ps. The real title of this blog is Cultural ADHD…. You get it!
You’re awesome. I know you are. Please go out there and shine!
